NGORONGORO

Ngorongoro is a fascinating and unusual Conservation Area which includes the Ngorongoro Crater at its centre, and then extends through the Crater Highlands, in which local tribes are permitted to maintain their traditional lifestyles in as natural environment as possible. This extraordinary volcanic landscape is rich and fertile, with stunning craters and lakes, and the high altitude creates a malaria-free micro climate.

ACCOMODATION

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge itself is an architectural marvel, built on the rim of a collapsed volcano that boasts the most magnificent views over the crater floor. It is home to vast herds of buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, the rare and endangered black rhino, mighty bull elephants, cheetahs, leopards, lions, herds of gazelle and hartebeest.

& Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
High on the southwestern rim stands Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, commanding views of this natural wonder that often moves onlookers to reverential awe. Inspired in design by the Masai mud-and-stick manyatta (homestead), Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in Africa.

Manor At Ngorongoro
One of the first German-Dutch settler farm homes in the Ngorongoro highlands, has been totally and lovingly rebuilt, and introduced as The Manor at Ngorongoro. The Manor is reminiscent of an elegant, up-country farm home in the Cape Dutch style architecture. Accommodation is in luxurious cottages, each commanding fantastic views of the landscape and surrounded by fragrant flower gardens and age-old trees. The interiors are plush and beautifully appointed with period furniture evoking an old world charm.
